SUEZ CAPITAL AND CHINA ENERGY PROPOSE 300MW SOLAR POWER PROJECT TO BAHAMAS GOVERNMENT.

A joint Suez Capital and China Energy team led by Sylvia Del Pozo, Director of Suez Capital and Yolanda Yu, Director Americas, of China Energy International, met with the Bahamas Minister for Environment and Housing Joseph Ferreira, and the regulator for Utilities of the Bahamas, in Nassau. The Consortium proposed to the Govt. a plan to reduce Bahamas’ exorbitant fuel import bills, by investing in and operating a solar farm, initially of 300MW, scalable to 500MW. After a fruitful discussion, the consortium proposed to submit a proposal to the Government on a China Bahamas bilateral basis for this project of strategic national importance.
