Mr. Nair was appointed Executive Chairman of the Group in 2011. His background is in Financial Engineering and Government Advisory roles. He is also recognized as a leading practitioner of Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building among Sovereign states. Mr. Nair has spent the past twenty years in putting together some of the most iconic infrastructure projects in Africa and Latin America, using Chinese Exim credits, so much so, that the Economist magazine once dubbed him “China’s secret weapon in Africa”.
As an entrepreneur he has set up, added value and sold several companies, especially in the “Economies in Transition”. He bought, developed and sold off British Borneo Petroleum, an old midcap oil company. In 1995, along with two local partners he set up the first post-soviet insurance company in The Republic of Georgia, and in 2004, when it had become the largest independent insurer in Georgia, sold it to the Bank of Georgia. In Turkmenistan, he set up the first post-soviet international vehicle dealership, selling it in 2000 to a major Turkish group. He has acted as advisor on FDI, National Strategic Planning and Financial Engineering to the Governments of Nigeria, Ghana, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, Mauritius, Grenada, Malta, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Ecuador. As a specialist in National Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building, Mr. Nair was called upon to attend the Somali Round Table, representing a major Middle Eastern Country, and was also one of the key figures behind the formation of the Somali United Front, a broad-based political grouping of Somali clans aimed at bringing peace to Somalia. He also acted as mediator between the Govt. of Niger and major Chinese Oil Company in the dispute on the Agadem block, and represented another Chinese oil major in their negotiations with the Kurdish Regional Government.
In 2013, he was appointed as Special Envoy of the Government of Vanuatu to initiate talks between Vanuatu and the Republic of Georgia on the issue of the de-recognition of the breakaway republic of Abkhazia, a task in which he succeeded. In 2016, The newly elected Government of Vanuatu appointed him their Trade Advisor for Europe, with a mandate to seek assistance to clean up Vanuatu’s offshore banking, gaming and shipping sectors. Mr Nair is an alumnus of The South Bank University and The University of Oxford and also holds an MBA in Political Risk from the Scottish Business School, Glasgow. He is a Fellow of The Royal Asiatic Society and The Royal Society for Asian Affairs. He is also a Member of The Royal Institute of International Affairs and in 2016 was elected a Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Fuellers. In 2017, after being given an active Government Role by the Government of Vanuatu, Mr Nair temporarily stepped down from all his commercial positions and put his business interests into a blind trust. He resigned in protest at the Govt. crackdown on medical staff, during the popular uprising in Bahrain. In 2008, he led Bahrain’s foreign policy team that presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council, the country’s first action plan presented at a global level, setting the norm for the Universal Periodic Review. He was then elected Deputy Vice Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Silvia Del Pozo Antunez is the CEO of Spectrum S.I. in Spain and heads the Group’s Utilities businesses. She holds a Degree in Finance from ICADE in Madrid and an MBA in Finance from IESE Madrid. She has also attended executive courses at Wharton. Ms. Del Pozo began her career with Cementos Mexicanos in Madrid as Financial Controller. She then joined as Financial Controller of ENDESA the Spanish Power Utility and become the Chief Operating Officer of ENDESA Europe. She left ENDESA following its takeover by the Italian utility ENEL, and joined the M&A team of Arsa Partners, a boutique Spanish investment bank. Ms. Del Pozo has over twenty years of experience in financial engineering, M&A transactions and Capital Markets. During her tenure as COO of Endesa, she was also responsible for the IT Department of the company. In this period she achieved cost reductions of nearly 40%, by embracing state of the art technologies. Her regions of speciality are Latin America and Southern Europe. Within the Group she heads the transaction team that works closely with China Energy and China State Grid in their overseas acquisitions. Antonio Gnisci is the Managing Director of the Group’s Design and Architectural consulting firm FGT Consulting. Mr. Gnisci holds as architect’s warrant from Rome and a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California.
He is a Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Rome, “La Sapienza”. Since 2002 Mr. Gnisci was Senior Consultant and Associate of Progetto CMR, a leading architecture & engineering Italian firm with international operations in several countries, he subsequently became the Head of International Operations of FG Tecnopolo in Rome. He joined the Group, following our acquisition of the overseas business of FGT. He brings to the Group over fifteen years of experience and expertise in the management of the design and supervision of major infrastructural projects. His career spanned advisory work to the Ministry of Treasury of Italy and advisor to Deloitte, leading several redevelopment projects of public buildings of historical value.
Mr. Gnisci set up the international offices of FG Tecnopolo in India, Qatar, Malaysia and Malta and was involved in some of the iconic projects of Italian design in those countries.
Presently as Head of the Group’s Consulting Practice, he leads the Master Plan Programme and Front-End Engineering Design for the Port of Sur in Oman, as well as the initiatives for the Najaf-Karbala High Speed Rail Link and the Saudi Land Bridge from Riyadh to Damman.

There she managed over 40 expat staff, 10 third country nationals and over 200 local staff. Ms.Ran has been closely following the top Chinese contracting companies, and was also involved in negotiations with a major Chinese oil company for assistance in operations in Turkey and Nigeria.

Mr.Ismailov has a Masters Degree in Information Technology from the Technological University of Tajikistan and a BA from the Malta Institute of Management. He has more than 8 years of experience in both web based and traditional marketing, project management, product development and global logistics. As a Director of Business Development in Suez Technologies, he was in charge of the product development of two of the company’s main products, Scheduit App and Hippo Data, a social media analytic engine. He was also in charge of establishing strategic partnerships with market influencers. After two years of product development under his supervision and guidance, both companies were sold to a Singaporean conglomerate. Mr.Ismailov started as assistant cashier at one of the top banks in Tajikistan. After two years at the bank, he joined the Group’s Office in Dushanbe and was responsible for general office administration and logistics. Anna Szramkowska coordinates the Group’s Development Related activities and Corporate Social Responsibility.
She holds and MA in Globalisation and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex and an MA in International Relations from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland. Additionally, she was an Erasmus scholar at Ankara University and completed a one-year course in Diplomacy at the European Academy of Diplomacy. Ms. Szramkowska’s chosen field of specialisation is small island economies and she consolidated her expertise initially working as Project Manager at the Small States Network for Economic Development in Malta under one of the World’s leading experts on the economies of small island nations, Prof. Lino Briguglio.
She has consulted on aspects of gender and economic development for among others, The Commonwealth Secretariat, Council of Europe, International Organisation for Migration, OK Ethiopia Trust and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta. Within the Group, she is presently coordinating our initiatives on Sustainable Forestry in Solomon Islands, Fisheries Management in Vanuatu, Solar Power Generation in the Bahamas, Value Addition to fisheries in Kiribati and Aquaculture in Sri Lanka. As part of the Group’s CSR, Ms. Szramkowska acts as resource person to the Former President of Kiribati, H.E. Anote Tong. Dr. Tong is known worldwide for his efforts to raise global awareness on the threat posed by climate change.

Rasika Withanage heads the Information Technology vertical of the Group. He is a Graduate of the University of Wales and holds a Pg. Dip. in Sustainable Leadership from the University of Cambridge. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Mr. Withanage has more than fifteen years experience in managing multifaceted IT Projects worldwide.
He stated his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank and prior to joining the Group, was Head of Marketing and Sustainability at Virtusa. His experience covers design and development of disruptive technological solutions for telecom, banking, energy, agriculture, education industries and Governments. He has also managed Digital HR2.0 business strategy and integrated into internal communications platforms, as well as conceptualising and implementing green tech. solutions for energy saving and dashboarding. He has won recognition for his expertise in marketing technology, having been awarded “Most Influential Marketing Technology Leader” Award in 2015 by the World Marketing Congress and Global Sustainability Leadership Award for 2013 by the CSR World. His passion for Sustainable Development has resulted in him being appointed as an Expert Group Member of the United Nations Global Compact and Global Advisory Council Member of the World CSR and Sustainability Congress.
